Two accidents were reported by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office last week. ON Friday, September 28th, deputies from Washington County, Police from Okawville and Nashville, along with the Washington County Ambulance Service, responded to a call of a 3-vehicle accident along Interstate 64. 85-year-old Kathleen Fleming, of Oklahoma, struck 2 cars, driven by 49-year-old Anne Van Renns of Missouri and 38-year-old Diane Roper of Centralia. Fleming and Van Renns were both transported to an area hospital for treatment of their injuries suffered, with Fleming cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Also on Saturday, September 29th, deputies responded to a 2-vehicle accident along State Route 127, south of Nashville. 66-year-old Ellen Boczek of Du Bois failed to reduce her speed and ended up striking a vehicle, driven by 57-year-old Jeffrey Huffstutler of Du Quoin. A passenger of each vehicle had to be taken to an area hospital for treatment. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
