Five accidents were reported this past week in our area. Nashville officers responded to a motorcycle accident on Tuesday, October 9th. Jacob Suggs, of New Minden, was traveling West along State Route 15, when a silver Volkeswagon, driven by Annabelle Epplin of Nashville, pulled out of South Buhrman Street to Route 15, causing Suggs and his motorcycle to lock up his brakes, resulting in the bike being put on its side. Minor injuries were reported from Suggs. On Wednesday, October 10th, Sheriff’s Deputies reported a single-vehicle accident. 41-year-old Joseph Chapman, of Pinckneyville, struck a deer along State Route 127, near Locust Creek Road. Two accidents were reported on Friday, October 12th. Deputies report that a 2-vehcile accident occurred on State Route 127, near Locust Creek Road. 32-year-old Kristen Rodely of Coulterville struck 74-year-old Mary Thomas of Pinckneyville. Rodely was issued a citation for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Also that Friday, 41-year-old Gerald Porter of Pinckneyville crashed at the intersection of South Mill Street and East Chester Street. Porter was arrested for driving while having a revoked license and for operating an uninsured motor vehicle. The last accident was on Sunday, which was a single-vehicle accident. 33-year-old Aaron Graulein of Lenzburg ended up getting arrested from that accident for driving under the influence of alcohol. He also got cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
