Ten current and former staff members from Democratic Illinois governor candidate JB Pritzker’s campaign, says that they were harassed and discriminated against, due to their race. The billionaire businessman’s campaign made a statement on Wednesday, saying that the lawsuit was filed after they rejected a settlement offer to pay $7.5-million in damages. The African-American and Latino staff members said in their lawsuit, which was filed on Tuesday, that they were forced to work in unsafe areas and offered, “no meaningful opportunity for advancement.” Pritzker said that the information reported was untrue, with Running mate Juliana Stratton, who is an African-American, saying, “We are not afraid to litigate this to the fullest extent of the law.” The campaign released part of an October 5th settlement, which was offered from the workers’ attorney. They asked for $7.5-million, among other requests, and gave the campaign until October 8th to accept or, “our clients will pursue all available legal remedies.”
