A Saturday morning fire in Centralia completely destroys a vacant mobile home along the 1400 block of South Pine Street. A neighbor in the area noticed that a fire was started at around 930am on Saturday, and immediately called 9-1-1 for assistance. All available Centralia City firefighters responded to the call, and once they arrived, the flames were already shooting through the rooftop. The mobile home had a large number of items that were being stored inside, which made the battle against the fire difficult. The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, since the home was vacant and there were no utilities. Firefighters returned to the scene later in the day, in order to put out some smoldering spots, that had been rekindled. No injuries were reported from this fire.
