The Okawville Village Board met on Monday for a regular meeting. At their meeting, they approve the appointments of zoning board members Albert Moeller and Kathy Cook for a 4-year term. That term will last from January 4th, 2019 till December 31st, 2023. They approved the annual tax levy ordinance 557 and changed their next meeting, which is normally the last Monday of the month, to Wednesday, December 26th. William Burkman and Andrew Toadson were both approved as new hires to the Street and Utility department as full-time employees. The village of Okawville will keep their contract with Guardian Dental and USP Vision Insurance, after approving their renewal rates for this year. An annual raise of $2,000 was approved to officer Caroline Smith, who just recently completed her time at the Police Academy. Sargent Justin Blavescivnas had his letter of resignation approved, with his final date of employment not yet announced. Lastly the village approved contracts for insurance, planning and management for 3-years for $1,500, a 2-year $1,250 contract with David Zapp, a 3-year $2,400 contract with Carol Henderson and a $2,400 contract with the Okawville Times. Again their next meeting has been switch to Wednesday, December 26th next month.
