A wind watch and advisory will be effective today, as winds are expected to be coming from the south at 20 to 29 miles-per-hour, with gusts as high as 55 miles-per-hour.  Those winds may blow down limbs, trees and power lines in our area, with scattered power outages possible.  Traveling today could have issues due to this wind, especially vehicles that are high off the ground.  Trash cans, lawn furniture and other loose outdoor objects could be moved as well.  Wind Advisory’s are issued when sustained winds are predicted to have gusts as high as 45 to 57-miles-per-hour on a consistent basis.  Winds today may cause minor property damage without extra precautions.  Motorists should take caution while traveling today.
