Illinois State Police officials have come up with several reforms, designed to make it harder to residents to keep guns, after losing their right to own a firearm. The charges were revealed last week, on how firearm owner’s identification cards are revoked, how guns are seized and how related records are kept and shared. They call for a greater enforcement on revoking laws, that have been ignored for some time. The proposals are in regard to the fatal shooting of 5 people in Aurora last month by Gary Martin. Since Martin was a convicted felon, he should have never been allowed to purchase a handgun, which was used in the shooting. Acting State Police Director Brendan Kelly, says that the federal government in the United States must do more to address the incomplete FBI databases, which are used to perform background checks on prospective gun owners.
