13 point non typical killed in Bluford Illinois . Wasn’t my first hunt but my first big buck !!! When he walked under my tree I wasn’t sure exactly how big he was but after I shot him and found him he turned out very nice !!! My dopamine was thumping !!!!

I took this 8 point on October 5th in a standing bean field.. Most would say it’s just a typical buck, but in my opinion it is more than that… This 8 point is my first ever buck with a compound bow and will always hold a memory with me… Going to have it skull mounted so I can look at it and be able to tell the story of my first ever bow buck!

Very excited about this hunt ... I have been watching this buck all summer .. I go out Oct 2 sitting waiting on him but he doesn't come in my shooting range ... he lays down a little bit to far away .. Never seen him again until Oct 10th and that was the day .. He walked right in and gave me the shot... And I got him ... I am so happy...

I was hunting my favorite spot and I watched this boy for 3 hours. Took a lot of calling and finally he came in for the kill. Took him out at 26 yards. What a rush! Such a big boy!
Ashley Downey
First time ever firearm hunting, and landed this guy!
Landen Tennant
I took this buck on Saturday morning of first shotgun season in Wayne County. We estimate him to be 7+ years old. He was the first deer I saw that morning!

Been having this 10 point buck show up on camera for weeks. Got set up with the crossbow but shot over his back. He ran off and we didn’t see him for 2 weeks. Then he re appeared during shotgun season with only a few minutes remaining of daylight. This is the biggest buck to date and couldn’t wait to show my daughter.

It was my daughters first year hunting. She is 12 years old. Her dad took her and she waited patiently through the rain the first day with no movement. The 2nd day she was in her blind for a few hours before an 8 point came out infront of her. He went into the woods and came back out before she was nervously able to get a shot. First shot and he laid right down for her. She is the happiest kid ever!

I have been hurting for several years I have gotten doe's but never a buck. On Sunday morning my son wanted to come along with me. We went out to the stand wasn't seeing anything for about two hours. Then we seen a buck on the left side of the stand walking away from us. I stood up got gun and got ready to shoot. The buck then turned to his left giving me a perfect shot. I shot and got him a eight point buck. My first buck kill.
Steve Sheridan
Passed him up for 3 years before taking him

My son Levin Schulte shot his first deer Sunday morning, an 8 point buck! First deer and a decent buck at that! 10 years of age and first kill! Comment of the day was, as we walked up to the expired deer he said, “one more step to manhood”!

Got this one just north of Bluford. Him and another smaller buck was running all around a field with their heads down trying to find a Doe's scent. Finally this one came right by me. It's hard to see in the picture but he has an extra antler growing out above his left eye.

I took him after a quick prayer and in 15 min he showed up nose to the ground for a doe. I brought him in with a snort wheeze from 70 yards all the way up to 20 yards. My brother my dad and my nephew helped me track and he only went 80 yards. He is my first compound buck. I was so caught up in Buck Fever I radioed my dad "HE IS A MONSTER!" on repeat. He's a great buck, but ground shrinkage is definitely real. Very happy with him.

This is 13yr old Rylan Pierce. This is his first big buck. As a cool wet foggy morning wasn't producing much movement Rylan caught this buck cruising by about 50yds away as he was closing up the windows on the blind for the day and about to leave. I (Dad) hand him the gun as he is battling the buck fever shakes and as i'm trying not to laugh i get the deer to stop and he drops him in his tracks!!!

Harvested in Clinton County. This 15 pt was chasing a doe, couldn't get shot at him before he slipped into the timber. 10 minutes later he came back out chasing the doe, along with another buck and I took the shot at 120 yards.

My boyfriend and I sat in the blind and didn’t see anything for a while. We decided it was about time to head to the house and decided we would take a longer way around. We crossed the creek and came into an opening and he ran right up on us. I took my shot and he ran about 50 yards and went down.

I’m 62 years old and spent 24 years in the military. I’m a disabled veteran and I was drawn for the hunt at Crab Orchard this year. I sat all day on day 1 of the season and saw several bucks chasing does but I wasn’t able to get a shot. On day 2 a doe popped out of a drainage running towards me at about 75 yards. I got ready and this 11 point was on her tail. She went by at 60 yards and he followed and I was able to make the shot. Great Hunt!!

I'm not a rain or cold weather hunter, but today my husband convinced me to go out. We saw several does and 2 other smaller bucks before seeing this one about 80 yards out and I was able to make a great shot.

Shot it on my parents property down the road from our house Friday mid-morning sitting in the rain the only thing special about it is the first day that I've sat in a deer stand this year dear gods and luck was with me I was 30 minutes from leaving the stand to go to the house and get dry and then he showed up been watching this deer most of the year from my parents back porch
Thomas Bittles
Me and my son went out in pouring rain. Didn't think we would see anything. Then out steps this guy about 25 yards from the blind. 1 shot is all it took. My son thinks we was just hunting but its much more then that. Memories he will remember forever

I got the deer in Mt.Vernon and it was my first ever deer !
