Gary W. Levall, 85, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 6:00 am July 7, 2025 at Breese Nursing Home in Breese, Illinois. He was born March 2, 1940 in Bluford, Illinois to the late Vernie “Bus” Donald and Lindell Marie (McRill) Levall. Gary married Patricia (Hall) Levall on March 26, 1960 at East Salem Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois.
In addition to his beloved wife of sixty-five years, Gary is survived by his daughter, Barbara Reiman and husband, Phillip of Highland, Illinois; grandson, Kyle Reiman of Maplewood, Missouri; granddaughter, Alyssa North and husband, Zane of Nashville, Tennessee; great-granddaughter, Nova Rei North of Nashville, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
Mr. Levall proudly served his country in the United States Army for two years. He was a member of Summersville Missionary Baptist Church, American Legion Post #141, and the Amvets. Gary was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling.
A Visitation will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Chapel in Woodlawn, Illinois. A Memorial Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Reverend Steve Hamson officiating. Full military rites will be held at the cemetery. Inurnment will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made in Gary’s honor to Summersville Missionary Baptist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association.
