Edie Boehne, formerly of Salem, Illinois, died on October 25, 2025, in Raleigh, North Carolina.  Edie was born Eddazane Connolly on October 2, 1937, in Wichita Falls, Texas, the only child of C.C. and Alyce (Magee) Connolly. Her father worked for the Texas Company and the family moved to the Salem area in 1942.  She attended Shanafelt Grade School and Salem High School.  She was a graduate of SIU Carbondale and worked as a primary school teacher for nearly 30 years, mostly in the South Central School District, retiring in 1993.

Edie married Wilfred E. Netemeyer in 1959.  He passed away in 1968.  In 1970 she married Walter A. Boehne and he passed in 2005.  She is survived by her children, Diana (Netemeyer) Callaghan and husband Rich of Raleigh, North Carolina, Steve Netemeyer and husband Ned Gizinski of Houston, Texas, Jeff Netemeyer of Atlanta, Georgia, and a granddaughter Lauren Callaghan of Fredericksburg, Virginia.  She is also survived by two stepchildren and several step-grandchildren.

Edie was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, national teacher’s organization for over thirty years.  She enjoyed outside activities, playing cards, traveling, reading, shopping at garage sales and flea markets, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Edie Boehne will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Salem.  Burial will follow at Paradise Cemetery in Salem.   There will be a visitation held on Saturday at the church from 10:00 until the time of the service.  Crouse Funeral Home in Salem is assisting the family with arrangements.   Online condolences and memories can be left at www.CrouseFH.com
