The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to 15 calls last week with 4 of them assisting a motorist and 3 accidents.  Other calls ranged from criminal damage to property, phone harassment and fraud in Hoyleton, assisting in securing loose horses in the Covington area, assisting with medical calls in Ashley and rural Marissa and removing debris from the highway.  They arrested 22-year old Jared Jones of Benton on a Franklin County warrant.  Last Wednesday, there was an accident on County Highway 16, south of Oakdale, as a vehicle driven by 27-year old Jeremy Deppe of Sparta hit a deer.  No injuries were reported.  On Friday, they responded to an accident on County Highway 11 in Beaucoup, as vehicle driven by 25-year old Christopher Kollmann of Nashville went off the roadway during the storm and rolled over.  There was no mention of any injuries.  On Sunday, there was an accident on State Route 17 near Okawville as a vehicle driven by 26-year old Michael Yardley of Central City struck a vehicle being driven by 62-year old Linda Grayson of Okawville.  There were no injuries, but Yardley was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid and Accident.
