Douglas Lee Daniels, 56, of Elmhurst, Illinois, passed away in Chillicothe, Illinois, on December 24, 2025.  He was born April        9, 1969, in Peoria, Illinois, to Jerry and Barbara Daniels.  Doug graduated from Illinois Valley Central High School in Chillicothe, Illinois, in 1987, attended Eastern Illinois University pursuing Jazz Performance, and graduated from Columbia College Chicago with a Bachelor of Arts in Music.  Doug is survived by his parents, and brother, Michael (Christina) of Lynnwood, Washington.

Doug was an accomplished musician, starting his career in the early 1990’s as an alto and tenor saxophonist, backing the best singers and instrumentalists throughout central Illinois.  In 1997, he joined Blues legend Eddie King’s band, The Swampbees, and toured nationally and internationally for years, performing in locations such as France, New York, Spain, Russia, Canada, and Turkey.  For the past 25 years, Doug has been very active in the Chicago music scene, most recently performing in bands The Ron Burgundy’s and Motown Nation.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at Osborn Funeral Home in Dix, Illinois.  Burial will follow at the Donoho Prairie Christian Church Cemetery, in Texico, Illinois.  Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 31, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service, at the funeral home.  Memorial gifts may be made to the Donoho Prairie Cemetery Fund, and will be accepted at the service, or by mail to the Osborn Funeral Home, P.O.
