
Shirley Ann (Schaubert) Coffey, age 90, of Salem, Illinois, passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia.
Shirley was born in Fairman, IL on April 18, 1935, the daughter of the late Ervin and Violet (Fite) Schaubert. She married Robert Bryan Coffey on July 28, 1956, in Odin, Illinois, and together they shared 59 years of marriage before his passing on April 8, 2016.
Shirley was a faithful member of the First Christian Church in Salem. She spent her life devoted to her family. She was a cook for Salem High School for many years. Her interests were puzzles, knitting, canning, gardening and flowers. Shirley will be remembered for her kindness, quiet strength, and the love she shared with those closest to her.
She is survived by her son, Kent Coffey of Odin; five grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her great joy.
Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Karie; and three grandchildren, David, Kala, and Macie.
Graveside services for Shirley Ann Coffey will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at Hillcrest Memorial Park near Centralia with Phil Martin officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital and can be received at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem who is assisting the family with arrangements.
