The Saint Louis Cardinals beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 3 to 2 in 12 innings last night.
The Nashville Hornets game in the Class 2A Regional yesterday was postponed due to a severe storm that went through the area and caused a power outage. The game will be played today at 4 PM against Waterloo Gibault. It will be on the V and v1047.com. The Freeburg versus Belleville Althoff game will follow in Nashville.
Nashville High School has 10 athletes competing today in the preliminaries of the Class 1A girls’ state track meet in Charleston. Two are in the discus: Easten Hoepker, who had the 12th best throw in the state in the sectional, and Abby Kroener, who had the 28th best toss. Running on the 400, 800 and 16-hundred meter relay teams are Courtney Dalman, Alyson Grabowski, Jessica Isaak and Allison Kirchner. They rank 16th in the 800, 25th in the 400, and 29th in the 16-hundred. And the 32-hundred-meter squad of Abby Wrobelewski, Shailin Heiman, Taylor Cook and Johnna Bergman ranks 29th.
