There was a car versus semi accident late Wednesday morning on Interstate 64 near the Okawville exit.  According to the Illinois State Police, the accident occurred at 11:30 AM in the right eastbound lane as the truck ran into the back of a car.  The driver of the semi, 56-year old Daniel Carter of Saint Louis, was not injured, but the driver of the car, 24-year old G.J. Justin Montgomery of Austin, Texas was injured and taken to Washington County Hospital.  The truck allegedly struck the back of the car, causing it to slide into a ditch and hit a sign, then overturning, but landing back on its tires.  There were conflicting stories from each driver, but Carter was cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, while Montgomery was cited for Improper Lane Usage.
