The Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to 13 calls in the past week.  According to the report, they responded to calls of suspicious activity in various areas of the county, an abandoned vehicle, as well as taking 26-year old Jared Hayes of Mount Vernon into custody on a charge of DUI on Thursday.  He was also cited for Improper Lane Usage and Illegal Transportation of Alcohol.  They responded to several accidents or assisting motorist calls.  One accident was last Tuesday on Green Street in Calrmin, as 27-year old James N. Cunningham of Tilden, was arrested eventually taken into custody for Leaving the Scene of an Accident, as well as being cited for Failure to Report an Accident and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident.  There was the accident on County Highway 27 late Saturday night, as well as 2 on Sunday.  One was on the Oakdale Blacktop Road, as 19-year old Katelyn Morris of Nashville lost control of a vehicle on the icy roadway and struck a vehicle driven by 46-year old Michael L. Hanke of Okawville.  There were no injuries.  Another accident occurred on Black Diamond Road, as 18-year old Chelsey Hollowell of Nashville lost control of the vehicle she was driving, spun out and then struck a tree.  She was not injured.   The other accident was on the DuBois Blacktop Road near Utah Road.  60-year old Larry Stephens was driving and struck a deer.  He was not injured.
