The Sparta High School Board of Education voted last night to remain a member of the Southern Illinois River to River Conference.  Sparta will continue to compete in the Mississippi Division along with Nashville, Pinckneyville, DuQuoin, Anna-Jonesboro and Carterville.  Sparta had thought of leaving River to River and joining the Black Diamond Conference.  However, Sparta Athletic Director Richie Williams told WNSV’s Bo Meyer that the school board voted last night 6 to 1 to stay.
