Precipitation is still high for 2014 in Washington County, but it was down for March. According to readings taken by the City of Nashville Water Plant, only 1.04 inches of rain or melted snow were recorded, which is slightly less than the 1.30 inches in February and much less than the 4.25 inches last March. The most rain came on this past Saturday with a fifth of an inch. There was only 1 inch of recordable snow last month and that was on March 3rd, while there was 6 inches of snow last March. 2013 had 19 inches of snow and already in 2014, there has been 19.1 inches. Temperatures hit 70 a couple of times with a high of 76 degrees on March 12th. Temperatures were all over, but there were more days in the 30s than any other. The low was 5 on March 3rd, when the 1 inch of snow came down and canceled school. The lowest temperature last March was 19 degrees, but the high was only 63. The average high temperature was 49.8 degrees with the average low temperature at 26.6 degrees for last month.
