The Nashville Police Department was very busy in the past week. Last Monday, they conducted a welfare check at a residence on the 400 block of East Adams Street, responded to an alarm on the 500 block of West Alton Street, assisted the EMS with a call on the 400 block of North Frank Street, responded to the 100 block of West Saint Louis Street for a report of counterfeit money, went to the 800 block of West Saint Louis Street for a child custody dispute and initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle that reportedly had a stolen lawn mower in it from a yard on East Belleville Street. One week ago, officers again assisted the EMS on the 400 block of North Frank Street, responded to the emergency room at Washington County Hospital for an unruly patient, went to the 11,700 block of Route 127 for a 911 hang-up call, responded to the 400 block of South Mill Street for a property exchange, provided traffic control on Route 127 for a tow truck, arrested Payton Rogers of Carbondale for Possession of Cannabis, responded to the 500 block of North Washington Street for a property exchange and went to West Walnut Street about an attempted suicide. On Wednesday, they responded to the 200 block of North Mill Street for a report of disorderly conduct, responded to the 800 block of South Mill Street about a theft, went to the 200 block of East Walnut Street for a report of harassment and responded to the 100 block of North Mill Street for a domestic disturbance, which resulted in John Lundgreen of Centralia being arrested for Aggravated Assault and Disorderly Conduct. On Thursday, the NPD went to the 11,700 block of Route 127 for a 911 hang-up call and responded to the 900 block of South Mill Street for a medical call. On Friday, they went to the 100 block of East Saint Louis Street for a suspicious noise, responded to the 400 block of South Friendship Drive for a 911 hang-up call and served an arrest warrant to 19-year old Zachary L. Daugherty of Okawville. On Saturday, officers were requested to assist in searching for a traffic accident on the south end of Nashville, responded to the 400 block of North Hoffman street to help with lifting the resident up and initiated 2 traffic stops. One was at 10 PM on North Mill Street at East Saint Louis Street as 47-year old Jama Drysdale of DuQuoin was arrested for Driving While License Suspended, as well being issued verbal warnings for Operating a Vehicle with Expired Registration and Obstructed Windshield. The other stop was shortly before midnight on South Mill Street at East Masonic Drive, as 35-year old John Neel of Nashville was arrested for Driving While License Suspended. On Sunday, they responded to the 1,500 block of West Saint Louis street for a theft and assisted the EMS with a report of a man slumped over his steering wheel on Interstate 64 at mile marker 49, but they were unable to locate any vehicle matching the description. Later that afternoon, they were requested to I-64 at mile marker 52 for an accident, but the Illinois State Police advised them it was only a motorist assist call. Sunday evening the police initiated a traffic stop on South Mill Street at East Belleville Street and arrested 23-year old Kip Smith II of Saint Louis, Missouri for Unlawful Possession of Cannabis and for Unlawful Display of Registration on the vehicle. He was issued a citation for Operating a Vehicle with Expired Registration and given a verbal warning for Speeding. Yesterday, officers conducted a welfare check on a person on the 11,700 block of Route 127 and responded to the 700 block of South Mill Street for harassment.
