The Washington County Board met Tuesday night and went through several reports that they approved.  The Ambulance and Rescue Service responded to 136 calls in April.  This is down slightly from the 140 calls for March, so there are 712 calls in the fiscal year for an average of 142.5 calls per month.  The County Clerk & Recorder Office offers several services for a fee to residents of the county and other outside agencies, such as certified birth certificates, licenses and recording fees.  Last month, they had revenues of just $35,194.34 from these fees and tax redemptions and stamps.  This is down significantly from the $80,070.11 in March.  The Sheriff’s report showed there were 71 arrests in April, down from the 91 arrests in March.  Deputies issued only 54 warnings last month, down from the 71 warnings in March.  He also reported that there are 3 federal inmates and 16 county inmates housed at the jail at this time.  Many of those county inmates are not actually from Washington County, but from other areas of the state and even out of state.
