A man from Mt. Vernon is sentenced for 2 years in jail, after pleading guilty to a meth-related felony.  41-year-old Chad Pepple plead guilty for a Class 3 felony charge of possession of less than 5 grams of meth.  His other charges were dropped via the plea agreement.  Those other charges included Class 2 felonies of possession of meth-making materials and possessing less than 15 grams of meth precursors.  He also had a misdemeanor of retail theft, which was dropped.  His arrested was in March of 2015, after he left the Wal-Mart in Salem, without paying for medications, which contained Pseudoephedrine.  He ran away and towards the gas station and threw his stolen merchandise a loss prevention worker, who was pursuing him at the time.  Pepple had reportedly purchased pseudoephedrine before and the store had his id information, according to the employee after officers arrived.
