The Okawville Village Board met for a regular monthly meeting on Monday. At that meeting, they approved two resolutions. The 1st one declared that the month of April as Community College Month, in support of Kaskaskia College. The 2nd resolution allowed 100 feet for Ameren, Illinois to work on the overhead transmission lines along Eastman Street and Route 127. The board also passed an ordinance to allow Ameren to continue maintenance on gas for the next 20 years. They authorized the condonation of properties along 112 West Illinois Street and 105 North Hickory Street. The 4th full-time officer was hired for the Okawville Police force, to replace Brian Salvi. That hire was Caroline Smith, who moves from part-time to full-time as an officer. Annual liquor licenses for Circle K and Rover Ranger were approved on Monday. Semi-Annual licenses to Plum Creek Golf Course LLC, American Legion Post 233 and Christ Brothers Incorporated were also approved. Obtaining a daily Class C license was the Okawville Community Club. The next meeting for the Okawville Village Board will be moved back a day to Tuesday, May 25th.
