It is Red Ribbon Week at the Nashville Public Schools and it was inspired by a U.S. Drug Enforcement Special Agent who was abducted and killed by drug traffickers learned he was working undercover. Enrique Camarena is honored and in 1998, Congress proclaimed the last full week of October as Red Ribbon Week to encourage students to be drug-free. This year’s theme at Nashville High School is “Say Peace Out to Drugs.” Today students can wear tie dye items, with tomorrow being Red Day and it’s Wild Hair Day on Friday.
