The Pinckneyville Band Parents hosted the 22nd Annual “Mardi Gras” Field Show and Parade Contest on Saturday with some of the best weather of the fall.  Seventeen bands performed and competed in the event.  Belleville West Marching Band won the Grand Champion Award.  In the Field Show Contest in Class A 1st Place went to Wesclin High School, while 2nd place went to Nashville High School.  Wesclin won Outstanding Percussion and Outstanding Drum Major, while Nashville won Outstanding Color Guard.  In Class 2A, 1st Place went to Mascoutah High School and 2nd Place went to Freeburg High School.  Mascoutah also won Outstanding Color Guard, Outstanding Percussion and Outstanding Drum Major.  In Class 3A, 1st Place went to Mehlville High School out of Missouri, while 2nd Place went to Belleville West High School.  In the Parade Contest, in the Junior High Class, DuQuoin Middle School Band won 1st Place in Outstanding Percussion and Outstanding Color Guard.  In Class A, 1st Place went to Mascoutah and 2nd Place went to Freeburg.  Mascoutah won Outstanding Color Guard, Outstanding Percussion and Outstanding Drum Major.
