Clean up from the November 17th tornado that hit New Minden and Hoyleton areas, claiming the lives of 2 individuals, is still not complete.  The melted snow has uncovered millions of small bits of debris on acreage throughout the area.  It will be more difficult to find this debris once the grass and vegetation begin to grow, so these communities are asking volunteers to help clean up these areas.  The dates are the next three Fridays and Saturdays from 8 AM to 5 PM.  Come to the Saint John’s Schoolhouse in New Minden to sign up.  Wear appropriate clothes, such as boots or old shoes that can stay outside during lunch.  Also, bring work gloves.  There will be lunch provided from 11 AM to 1 PM each day for the volunteers.  Groups involving youth will need supervisors.  If you are a landowner with debris and are willing to allow volunteers on your property, or if you have any questions in general, call Pastor Tim Mueller (Miller) at 314-3972 or John Lietz at 318-0590 or Dennis Windler at 478-5554.  Please call a day or two ahead of time to see if there is work to be done or if there is a rain out.
