The Future Business Leaders of America State Conference was this past Friday and Saturday in Springfield with over 1,450 students and faculty from 66 schools.  Part of that conference was competition in several business oriented areas.  Nashville High School had 28 students attend and compete.  Abigail Hall placed highest of the contingent with a 4th place finish in Help Desk.  The team of Alison Bauza, Erin Stearns and Sam Polczynski placed 5th in Entrepreneurship, while the team of Aaron Czjakowski and Alex Orr were 6th in Sports & Entertainment Management.  Morgan Dodson placed 6th in Electronic Career Portfolio.  Kelsie Klingenberg was 9th in Business Calculations and Brett Lange was 10th in Accounting II.  Nashville also received recognition for being the 2nd largest growing chapter in the state this year, more than doubling its enrollment from the previous year.  The sponsor is Michele Goostree.  Pinckneyville was represented by Collin Smith with a 2nd in Agribusiness, while Madison Coleman and Emma Bowen placed 8th in Website Design.  Their sponsors are Heather Genesio and Cheryl Clark.  FBLA is a nonprofit education association with a quarter million students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields.  Through state-based competition at the State Leadership Conference, students compete in events testing their business knowledge and skills.
