The City of Carbondale had 2 shootings this past weekend. The 1st one was Friday night, at around 930pm, where police responded to the 400 block of East Chestnut Street. Officers responded to the location in regard to a gunshot victim. They met up with the victim, who had possible life-threatening gunshot wounds. The victim then was taken to a St. Louis area hospital. The gunshot victim is not being identified at this time and there is no information in regard to who the shooter was. The 2nd shooting occurred at midnight on Saturday, at the intersection of East Chestnut Street and North Robert Stalls Avenue. Officers arrived and found the victim, who was suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. The victim had to be taken immediately to a St. Louis area hospital. The victim in this case is not being released at this time, since the investigation is ongoing. There is no suspect information provided at this time. There is no indication that this incident is related to the previous shooting on Friday night along the 400 block of East Chestnut Street.
