Ronald R. Sikma, 85, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away on November 13, 2022 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon. He was born February 14, 1937 in  Witchert, Illinois to the late Richard R. Sikma, Sr. and Johanna (Salm) Sikma. Ronald married Sally (Phillips) Sikma on September 25, 1985 in Las Vegas, Nevada and she preceded him in death.

Ronald is survived by his children, Mark Sikma, Karen Schilling and husband, Carl, Mike Sikma and wife, Tena; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; and caretaker and friend, Susan Kozuszek of Germantown, Illinois and her daughter, Heather Kreke and her little girl dog, Piper.

Ronald was a member of First Reformed Church of Witchert, Illinois. He owned and operated Sikma Plumbing and Heating in Kankakee. After retiring, he enjoyed gardening and woodworking.

A Graveside Service will be held May 27, 2023 at Oakwood Cemetery in Saint Ann, Illinois with Pastor Robert Knoll officiating. Inurnment will follow. Memorials may be made in Ronald’s honor to Oakwood Cemetery in Saint Ann, Illinois.
