NASHVILLE – The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that a reconstruction project on Illinois 15 in Washington County will begin, weather permitting, at 7 a.m. Tuesday, April 9.

To complete the necessary work, Illinois 15 over Lunte Creek, 3.6 miles west of Illinois 127, will be closed to through traffic until May 24. Motorists should follow the marked detour, utilizing Illinois 127 through Nashville and Interstate 64 and Illinois 160 through Okawville.

Drivers are urged to reduce speed, be alert for changing conditions, obey all construction signage, and refrain from using mobile devices while approaching and traveling through the work zone.
