A mental condition test will be done, in regard to a man from Jefferson County, in regard to an attempted murder. 39-year-old Victor Serrano is accused of kidnapping and nearly beating a pregnant woman to death back in December, with his defense attorney requesting a mental health exam, to determine his mental state, that could have played a factor in his decisions back in December. Prosecutors say that he attacked a pregnant woman, then led police in a high-speed chase, that ended up in Indiana. Serrano had already plead guilty to his charges in Indiana form that chase, where he was given a 1-year sentence. He has 3 additional charges in Jefferson County, including 2 counts of attempted murder, one for the woman and the other for her unborn child, as well as a felony for kidnapping. Serrano is due back in court on May 15th, with his bail set at $500,000.
